The Ritz Theatre located in Wellington, Texas, was built in 1928, and was the first theatre in its area to show talking pictures. The first event to take place in the theatre was the Democratic Party Convention. After the theatre closed down in the late 1970's it was more than 30 years before the doors were opened again and renovation of the theatre began.
Now that the Ritz is open, the public will be able to watch current movies and also live productions and performances.
